About Our Beans: Ethiopia Sidamo Natural

Ethiopia is the primary center of the origin of the Arabica coffee plant. Coffee is grown by farmers who may only have a few coffee shrubs amongst their crops. The Sidamo region is the most productive region in the country due to ideal climate conditions, high altitudes (6500-7200 feet above sea level), abundant rainfall and fertile soil. These beans are harvested from “heirloom cultivars”, meaning wild coffee plants! This is a naturally processed bean: once picked, the cherries are dried on raised tables in the sun for 8-10 days prior to washing. The resulting cup is complex, low acid, sweet and smooth with a winey flavor and spicy aftertaste. Your palette may detect strawberry, raspberry jam, or cocoa.
